Concept Spacecraft - 1960s
By the 1960s, the Space Race was in full swing and the public's imagination shifted from the fanciful possibilities of manned space flight to its brass-tack realities -- and the even more far-flung worlds of television and motion picture science fiction. As a result, conceptual spacecraft model kits were no longer in vogue. It wasn't until decades later that resin garage kit makers, now fueled by Baby Boomer nostalgia, began to produce kits based on the many "What If?" subjects proposed by American's various military and aerospace contractors. Most of the models in this section are from kits produced by Fantastic Plastic itself as well as other contemporary resin kit companies.
