Concept Spacecraft - 2000s

When the 21st century began, American spacecraft designers had just one question in mind: What was going to replace the retiring Space Shuttle? With NASA clearly favoring a return to the "capsule" concept, engineers from America's top aerospace companies put forth proposals for a number of small but re-usable spacecraft, several of which -- thanks to U.S. garage kit makers -- made it into model kit form.
