B-Wing Fighter
from "Star Wars - Episode VI: Return of the Jedi" (1983)
About the Design
Appearing only briefly during the climax of 1983's “Star Wars - Episode VI: Return of the Jedi,” the Rebel B-Wing was nonetheless one of the most original – and most memorable – spacecraft created for the original trilogy. Wildly asymmetric and featuring folding wings and a rotating cockpit (a feature originally conceived for the Millennium Falcon), the B-wing offered a unique profile as well as a boatload of heavy firepower.

About the Kit
Produced in an inadequately small scale, the MPC 1/144 B-Wing was one of four “Snap” kits released in conjunction with “Return of the Jedi” in the spring of 1983. It was later released in a gold-plated version, as part of a ROTJ three-pack, and then by AMT/Ertl when it acquired the original MPC molds.
This model was built from an original issue. |
