About the Design
Designed by SAAB aircraft engineer Sixten Sason in the early 1940s, the SAAB LX was a proposed supersonic fighter powered by both turbojet and liquid-fuel rocket engines. Incorporating a cranked wing design -- a SAAB favorite -- the LX was to be armed with 12 photocell-guided rockets. The concept likely featured state-of-the-art avionics and sensor suites to enhance situational awareness and combat effectivenss.
