About the Design
Regula 1 was a United Federation of Planets' Science Division space station in orbit around a barren, lifeless planet in the Mutara Nebula. Under the command of Dr. Carol Marcus, the station was tasked with testing the so-called "Genesis Device" on the planet in hopes to bringing life to this otherwise lifeless world.
In fact, the Regula 1 miniature seen in "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" was a simplified version of the Starfleet Orbiting Office complex seen in 1979's "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" flipped 180 degrees. It kinda actually looked better this way. |
About the Kit
Designed in CAD by George Waldron, this 1:1000 scale Regula 1 kit was released by Fantastic Plastic Models late in 2022. It consisted of principally resin-cast pieces with 3D printed resin detail parts.
