Post-Saturn Super-Booster Collection

1:700 Scale

Price: Approximately $120.00 per set of 2
STATUS: COMING SOON!

About the Design

Even before Americans set foot on the moon, NASA was hard at work planning for the next phase of manned space exploration. Spaceflight experts widely agreed that America would soon need one or more "super-boosters" able to lift payloads even larger than the mighty Saturn V could handle.

In the mid-1960s, aerospace companies submitted literally dozens of "super-booster" proposals, some of which actually made it into the early development stages. Unfortunately, soon after the Apollo astronauts made it home from the Moon in July of 1969, interest in creating a new generation of heavy lift boosters quickly waned, leaving these designs to exist only in the imagination of spaceflight enthusiasts and historians.

To commemorate this last Great Hurrah in concept spacecraft design, we will soon issue a unique 8-piece "super-booster" rocket set in manageable 1/700 scale. The collection will include seven of the most notable (and interesting) designs from this period, plus a 1/700 Saturn V for reference. The tallest of these rockets, the Aerojet Sea Dragon, will stand 10.2 inches (25.9 cm) tall. The Saturn V will be 6.2 inches (15.75 cm) tall.
