Narcissus Escape Craft from "Alien" (1978)
About the Design
Squat and angular, the "Narcissus" was one of two lifeboats carried by the space tug "Nostromo's" lifeboat, capable of taking three to four crew members to safety in case of catastrophe (e.g. as alien infestation). The craft was designed by celebrated sci-fi artist Ron Cobb and appeared at the end of Ridley Scott's classic 1978 "Alien" as well as in the opening of James Cameron's 1986 follow-up, "Aliens."

About the Kit
Released in 1991 by the UK's Halcyon company, the Narcissus was an excellent reproduction of the motion picture production miniature and fit together extremely nicely. Expensive for its time -- it originally retailed for about $40 in the early 1990s -- it nonetheless made an excellent display piece.
