About the Design
The Fokker D XXIII was an unusual push-pull fighter developed for the Dutch Air Force just prior to the outbreak of World War II. Although an experimental prototype was flown only briefly in 1939, its center-lined twin-prop , twin-boom layout was intriguing enough for the Japan's Mitsubishi Co. to consider building its own version to pursue U.S. bombers during the final years of of the Second World War. A workable prototype was never realized.
