About the Design
Late in World War II, German aircraft designer Alexander Lippisch sketched out several concepts for jet-powered "mini-fighters" that could be produced quickly and cheaply to defend the Fatherland from Allied bombers. The P.15-01 was one such concept, a delta-winged fighter that, like in his DM-1 glider and P.13A fighter concept, housed the pilot in its tail. With no room for landing gear, it would be launched via a wheeled trolley, much like his ME-163 rocket-powered fighter.
Like so many of Lippisch's "Luft '46" concepts, this concept never got beyond the early design stage. |
