Kenneth Arnold UFO (1947)
About the Design
On June 24, 1947, Idaho businessman Kenneth Arnold was flying his private plane near Mt. Rainier, Washington, when he spotted what he believed to be a formation of silvery aircraft traveling at a minimum 1,200 mph. Convex and crescent-shaped, these odd glowing aircraft moved like "saucers skipping over water," according to Mr. Arnold. Hence the term "flying saucer" was born.
Arnold was not alone in his observation. Numerous people on the ground also reported having witnessed this unusual aerial phenomenon. Whether these craft were of alien origin, represented a new step in human aircraft propulsion, or were nothing more than a flight of migrating geese, remains a matter of debate to this day. |
About the Kit
Released in May 2018, this all-resin kit was the first model of the famous Kenneth Arnold UFO ever produced. It included a two-piece body, a translucent colored cockpit canopy and a two-piece custom display stand.
Because the true size of the Kenneth Arnold U.F.O. is unknown, the 1:144 scale figure is pure conjecture. |
