Twin-bodied or twin-boomed fighter/bombers are rare, but provide a solution for those looking for light, one-man aircraft with exceptional speed and maneuverability.
In WWII, Junkers proposed this "schnellbomber" ("fast bomber") which featured an off-center cockpit and slightly forward-swept wings. Clearly meant as a high-speed tactical bomber, the plane appears to have been lightly armed and capable of carrying only a minimal bomb load. Its one advantage: speed. |
