About the Design

The Ecto 1A was the same 1959 Cadillac hearse used in the original "Ghostbusters" movie (1984), but with even more electronic crap -- including an electronic sign -- strapped to its roof.

About the Kit

Although AMT/Ertl never bothered to kit the original Ecto 1 (This was eventually done by Polar Lights), its Ecto 1A had a long and successful run for several decades.
