Flying Saucer from "The Thing" (1982)
About the Design
The opening sequence of director John Carpenter's 1982 remake of "The Thing" featured a brief but memorable shot of a classic flying saucer approaching Earth and then entering the atmosphere above the South Pole. Although just a few seconds long, the highly detailed spacecraft with its revolving rim lights made an indelible impression on moviegoers.
