Colonial Raptor
from "Battlestar Galactica" (2003-2009)
About the Design
Introduced in Sci-Fi Channel's 2003 "Battlestar Galactica" mini-series and retained for the weekly serial, the Raptor one of the few principal vehicles not inspired by craft seen in the original 1970s series. Squat and ungainly, the Raptor was principally a reconnaissance craft, although it occasionally functioned as a ship-to-ship shuttle, orbit-to-planet transport and, during the Battle of New Caprica, a heavily armed gunship.

About the Kit
Released by Black Sun Models in early 2007 under the name "Galactic Recon Craft," this resin Colonial Raptor kit featured a highly detailed interior (difficult to see in these photos) and landing gear as well as a clear vacuform canopy. The model was mastered by Alfred Wong.
This model was built by an original issue. |
