Boeing Sensorcraft UAV (2002)
About the Design
Supposedly a Top Secret "black" project developed in the early 21st century by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Boeing "Sensor Craft" was an ultra-sophisticated unmanned surveillance aircraft designed to replace the RA-4 Global Hawk, the Unmanned Aerial Combat Vehicle (UACV) that proved itself so useful in Afghanistan and in the early days of the Iraq War.
Large by UAV standards -- its wingspan is a full 100 feet -- the jet-powered Sensor Craft was said to be capable of flying a wide range of photographic and electronic intelligence-gathering missions while maintaining virtual invisibility to radar and infrared sensors. |
About the Kit
Released in 2003, this 1/144-scale resin kit by Ukraine's Unicraft company is, to date, the only model of this unique concept aircraft ever produced.
