Batmobile
from "Batman Forever" (1995)
About the Design
When director Joel Schumacher took over the "Batman" franchise from director Tim Burton, he not only recast the lead role, but commissioned a total makeover over the Caped Crusader's fleet of crime-fighting vehicles. The 1930's-style Batmobile of the first two films was replaced with this more modern variant that seemed to owe as much to "Alien" illustrator H.R. Geiger as it did to the decades'-old "Batman" legacy. Interestingly, when the Batman character was resurrected for a series of On-Star TV commercials, it was Burton's Batmobile, not Schumacher's, that got the starring role.
