About the Design

The Amun-Ra-class stealth frigate was a highly advanced warship which played a pivotal role in the early seasons of "The Expanse." Designed and constructed in secret by the Protogen Corporation, a shadowy Earth-based organization, the Amun-Ra-class ships represented a major technological leap in space warfare, blending Martian military-grade hardware with proprietary stealth systems that rendered them virtually invisible to conventional sensors.

The Amun-Ra-class stealth ships were equipped with advanced weaponry including torpedoes and high-velocity railguns, capable of taking down even Martian capital ships. Their stealth capabilities allowed them to strike with surprise and retreat undetected, making them ideal instruments of asymmetric warfare.

Only nine of these ships were built. All were eventually destroyed in battle.

About the Kit

This 3D-printed model was created from a single STL file purchased on Etsy in 2025. Of all the Amun-Ra models then available on the Internet, this seemed to best capture the ship's unusual design and dimensions. However, it still lacks many of the details seen on the original CGI model seen on the show
