Sulaco from "Aliens" (1986)
About the Design
Resembling a flying zap-gun, the "Sulaco" was the principal spacecraft featured in James Cameron's superior sequel, "Aliens." Ostensibly a space-going troop carrier, the "Sulaco" was only lightly armed with twin guns on its upper and lower surfaces and was powered by a means never suggested in the screenplay. It carried two "drop ships" capable of atmospheric flight, both of which could be piloted by remote control if necessary.

About the Kit
Halcyon's "Sulaco" was excellently detailed and engineered, but was disappointingly small (especially when compared to their Narcissus and Nostromo kits). Simple to build but a joy to detail, the kit was released twice, once bearing the "Aliens" logo, then later bearing the logo of "Alien3."
This model was built from an original issue. |
