Space Jet Glador
from "Perry Rhodan" (1999)
About the Design
The "Glador" is a deep space transport designed to accommodate a race of human midgets called the Siganese. Fast and agile, the craft hides its superior abilities behind the form of a conventional "ship's boat."
The craft first appears in the Perry Rhodan novels in the early 1960s. Disc-shaped, it had the forward projections added in the early 1990s to accommodate a new drive that was attached to the front of the ship. Coincidentally, this gave the Space Jet a profile that resembled a certain Corellian freighter we've all come to know and love
About the Kit
In the late 1990s, Revell of Germany released a series of four models based on spacecraft designs featured in Europe's super-popular Perry Rhodan novel series. This was the first time that a major model manufacturer had ever produced a model line based on novel illustrations instead of TV or motion picture designs.
The Glador was a good-sized model, but lacking any landing gear or display stand, it took some extra effort on the builder's part to make it presentable.
This model was built from an original issue.
