Qaher 313 in "Flight" |
ABOUT THE DESIGN |
ABOUT THE KIT |
On February 2, 2013, Iran’s
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi introduced the
world to the latest weapon in their country’s military arsenal: The Qaher 313
“Conqueror.” Iran claimed this home-grown stealth fighter was designed to carry
two 2000-pound bombs or at least six PL-12 category air-to-air missiles. Within days of the unveiling, military aviation experts from around the world were labeling the Qaher 313 a “laughable hoax,” noting the single-engine aircraft was far too small to perform as its owners claimed, and that it more resembled a Hollywood prop than a 21st century fighter. Close-up photos of the cockpit were particularly damning, as the instrument panel was painfully simple, the cockpit tub barely large enough to fit its pilot. |
Based on multiple photos of the
Qaher 313 released by the Iranian government, this 1:72 resin model of the
"hoax" fighter was mastered by Alfred Wong and cast by Mana Studios. For information about kit availability, click here.
