ABOUT THE DESIGN |
ABOUT THE KIT |
Introduced in the first Star Wars "prequel," 1999's "The Phantom Menace," the Naboo Royal Starship boasted a sleek, 1950s'-style retro design intended to reflect the optimism of the Old Republic. Unlike the rigidly geometric, greeblie-covered ships of the Empire era, Naboo technology was smooth, polished and very, very civilized. |
Released in February 2009, the Royal
Starship was the second in Fantastic Plastic's series of 1:288 scale Naboo space
ship kits. (The first, the Royal
Cruiser, was released the previous January.) Patterned by Scott
Lowther and cast by Replicant Casting Co., the 11-inch-long kit featured
optional landing gear, an entrance ramp and a desert landscape display stand.
This kit was retired in July 2009. |
