ABOUT THE DESIGN |
ABOUT THE KIT |
America's first guided surface-to-surface ballistic missile, the Corporal was developed by California's vaunted Jet Propulsion Laboratories (JPL), the same group that would later send rockets to the moon. Based largely on German V-2 technology, the Corporal was basically an artillery round launched via rocket instead of shot from a cannon, then guided along its course by radar. The missile had a range of approximately 75 miles. |
First released in 1959, the Hawk Corporal missile was re-released 10 years later in a "Glow-In-The- Dark" version., This model is built from an original 1959 issue. |
