ABOUT THE DESIGN |
ABOUT THE KIT |
As the United Federation of Planets (UFP) moved deeper and deeper into uncharted space, small starbases became necessary to provide military and civilian vessels with fuel and provisions as well as “shore leave”-style diversions. The “B”-class waystation was one of the smaller such bases and they could be found dotted liberally throughout Federation territory. Not canon, the “B”-class waystation was featured in the Star Trek Ships of the Line book (2006) as background for the U.S.S. Bonaventure. Although clearly inspired by the K-7 Space Station featured in the TOS episode “The Trouble with Tribbles,” the station features a lower structure that combines elements of the “Wrath of Khan” Regula 1 space station with tusk-like support structures. |
Released in May 2013, the Federation
B-Class Waystation is the first of three planned "Star Trek" space station kits
in 1:2500. All three have been developed in CAD and cast by Millennia Models
International (MMI) exclusively for Fantastic Plastic Models. For information on kit availability, click here. |
