ABOUT THE KIT |
The G-Class Starbase is one of several 23rd century starbase designs created by graphic designer and artist Masao Okazaki for his "The Starfleet Museum" website, in which he graphically chronicles the evolution of early starship design (most of his own creation). Okazaki's G-Class starbase takes obvious inspiration from the K-7 station used in the classic TOS episode "The Trouble with Tribbles" and blends it with design tropes later expressed in the Star Trek motion picture series. A long-time Star Trek fan, Okazaki is credited as "Technical Consultant" on the 2008 digitally remastered version of "The Ultimate Computer." |
The G-Class Starbase kit was
designed and produced exclusively for Fantastic Plastic Models by John Fleming
of Millennia Models International (MMI). Based on a blend of similar 1980s-era
fan/role-playing game designs, the model was designed in CAD and then printed in
SLA.
This is the second in our 1:2500 Star Trek space station series. Our B-Class Waystation is still available in the Virtual Museum Store. For information on kit availability, click here. |
