| In the second decade of the 21st Century, the American Space Shuttle was officially retired and NASA returned its attention to more economical capsule-style manned spacecraft. At the same time, the privatization of manned space flight began to take wing, with companies like SpaceX, Scaled Composites, Bigelow Aerospace and even Boeing proposing and, yes, testing third-generation manned spaceflight systems. |
