ABOUT THE DESIGN: | ABOUT THE MODEL: | |
The KLF.225 represents the
kind of technology German aircraft engineers were developing for their
point interceptors at the end of World War II. The design includes an
internal chemical rocket engine plus four detachable external rockets to add
power during the launch phase. To minimize weight, the KLF had no landing
gear but instead launched via a railed platform. The nose was glazed for
maximum visibility while the pilot laid prone so the overall design would
minimize drag. Was the KFL.225 V.1 real? No, the design was probably an early 21st century hoax. But its technology was spot-on enough that it fooled many Luft '46 aficionados. |
