ABOUT THE DESIGN: | ABOUT THE MODEL: | |
BMW was Nazi Germany's first supplier of jet engines for combat aircraft. In addition to providing these advanced propulsion systems for rival manufacturers' aircraft, the company also proposed several advanced fighter project designs of its own. The P.II was its second proposal for a small jet fighter. Like the P.1, this model would be powered by a .003 jet engine and had a single boom tail with two fins. Unlike the P.1, the P.II required the pilot to lie in a prone position rather than sit upright. Its cannons were placed in its wings rather than in the fuselage. No further details are available. |
