Although based on the Soviet Union's MIR space station (that was still in orbit at the time of "Armageddon's" 1998 release), this fictitious and unnamed "Russian Space Station" was significantly larger.  (In fact, the station was basically two MIRs slapped together.)  One decidedly odd feature of the design was the rotating docking bar on the station's front end.  Exactly why a stationary space platform would need a rotating docking collar was never adequately explained -- although it did set the stage for one of the film's innumerable action/suspense sequences as the X-71 shuttles struggled to latch on to the damned thing.

In terms of accuracy, this "Russian Space Shuttle" kit was lightyears ahead of the "Armageddon Space Shuttle" kit Revell released at the same time.  At least this model actually looked liked the subject it was meant to portray.

In fact, this kit built up into a very large, very impressive display piece complete with a dramatically designed stand embossed with the fiery "Armageddon" logo.
