ABOUT THE KIT |
The "Botany Bay" DY-100 Sleeper Ship was one of the few "special" spacecraft miniatures built for the original Star Trek TV series that ran on NBC from September 1966 until spring of 1969. Since then, many fans, looking at the seemingly "incomplete" configuration of the spacecraft's cargo containers, have extrapolated on designer Matt Jefferies original design, completing the "ring" and adding a second "ring" to the ship's spine. Here is a 3-D representation of the result, including custom-designed decals for an early 21st century "Centauri Spacelines" shipping company. |
Mastered and cast by Mike Salzo,
this 1/350-scale "Botany Bay" was sold by special arrangement with Fantastic
Plastic Models beginning in July 2009. The kit had optional upper and
lower cargo adapters that allowed by modeler to build the ship as the
traditional "Botany Bay" or as a fully-loaded DY-100 cargo vessel. For information on kit availability, CLICK HERE. |
