ABOUT THE DESIGN

ABOUT THE KIT

The  Viper MK. 1 was the Colonial Fleet's main space superiority fighter during its lengthy war with the robotic Cylons.  A one-man high-performance fighter capable of both atmospheric and non-atmospheric flight, the Viper was traditionally launched from massive Battlestars via magnetic-powered rails and then landed manually on one of the space carrier's two outboard flight decks.

Released in late November, 2010, the Viper MK. 1 Launch Bay Diorama was sculpted  by Alfred Wong and cast by MMI.  The kit included a 1:72 BSG (TOS) Viper MK. 1 fighter complete with landing gear (not shown), launch bay floor and launch tube entrance, launch rail segment and catapult, plus three ground crew figures.  The Viper also included a cockpit with Colonial Fighter Pilot and a clear vacuform cockpit canopy.
