ABOUT THE DESIGN |
ABOUT THE KIT |
Designed by celebrated Swiss surrealist H.R. Giger, the original "Alien" put the term "bio-mechanical" into the sci-fi lexicon. Although clearly still a "man-in-a-suit" creature, the alien sported a grotesque exterior that resembled a cyborg turned inside out and a elongated head that was not-so-subtly phallic in nature. The double-rows of teeth and back protrusions helped complete the sense of dread. |
A nicely scaled and detailed kit complete with clear plastic head carapace, the "Alien" was first released by MPC in 1979, then released by AMT/Ertl in 1991. This model was built from an original 1979 issue. |
