ABOUT THE DESIGN |
ABOUT THE KIT |
Set in the mid-21st Century, Gerry Anderson's "Thunderbirds" revolved around a top-secret, privately funded organization called "International Rescue" that employed a variety of high-tech air-, sea- and spacecraft to, well, rescue people. The second in the "Thunderbird" series of vehicles was this rather bulbous VTOL cargo carrier that came equipped with a seemingly endless variety of service modules. |
Many "Thunderbird" model kits in various scales have been released over the past 30 years. Like many models from Japan's Bandai company, this particular kit was actually meant to the built as a "toy" complete with friction-powered wheels. The wheels were not installed, allowing the model to retain some of its original dignity. |
