ABOUT THE DESIGN

ABOUT THE KIT

The SA-43 Endo/Exo-Atmospheric Attack Jet, nicknamed "Hammerheads: because of their distinctive canards, were the U.S. Marine Corps' primary space and atmospheric attack fighters during the late 21st century.   The craft could launch directly from ground bases or from large space-bourne carriers. Weapons consisted of six air-to-air missiles, one nose-mounted cannon, and one rear-facing two-barreled gun on the fuselage's mid-dorsal region.

Although several Hammerhead kits were released prior to this, this December 2010 release by Fantastic Plastic Models was the first in 1:72.  Patterned in CAD by Scott Lowther based on both TV show screen shots, mock-up photos and CGI references, the kit was cast by Mana Studios and included decals by JBOT.
