Moonsoon Gunboat on Shakedown Cruise |
ABOUT THE DESIGN |
ABOUT THE KIT |
The Monsoon Gunboat was produced
to replacing the aging
Olympus-Class Corvette as the principal support ship of the Earth
Alliance fleet. Small the stocky, the ship nonetheless carries
significant firepower thanks to the massive Particle Beam Canon that is the
dominant feature of its bow.
The Monsoon was too small to carry its own Jump Drive and thus had to either be escorted by larger, Jump-capable ships or use Jumpgates to move through Hyperspace. The Monsoon Gunboat was one of many unusual starship designs created for the Babylon 5 TV series, which premiered as a mini-series in 1993 and ran in syndication from 1994 to 1998. |
Originally produced by BamBam Productions, the 1:3700 Monsoon Gunboat became a joint BamBam/Fantastic Plastic venture in December 2008. Grown using stereolithography, this was the second "Babylon 5" subject marketed by Fantastic Plastic. For more information on this kit, including availability, please CLICK HERE. This model was built from an original issue. |
