ABOUT THE DESIGN

ABOUT THE KIT

By the mid-1960s, the U.S. had phased out most of its jet-powered cruise missiles like the Snark and Regulus II, and was fully in the chemical- and solid-fuel-powered rocket business.

From the land-based Titan, Atlas and Minuteman ICBMs to the Polaris and Poseidon submarine-launched nuclear missiles, America's nuclear deterrent were indeed formidable.

Monogram's follow-up to its classic "U.S. Missile Arsenal" kit of the late 1950s, this collection of 1/128-scale models depicted the U.S. military's full array of strategic and tactical rocket-powered weapons from the Sidewinder air-to-air missile to the Titan ICBM.  (Technically, only the Titan and Atlas rockets were "Space Missiles," but who's counting?)  A total of 36 missiles were featured in this colorful collection.

Released in 1969, this collection was re-released in 1983 as a "Heritage Edition" kit.  The model shown here is an original 1969 issue.
