ABOUT THE DESIGN

ABOUT THE KIT

The Trade Federation Droid Fighters were the precursors to the famous Imperial TIE fighters, and shared their basic H-shaped structure.  Small and only lightly armed, the fighters were launched in swarms intended to overwhelm enemies by their sheer numbers.

This was a disappointing kit.  The three little droid fighters were literally a "snap" to construct, and painting was a no-brainer.  There was more plastic in the stand than there was in the three vehicles.  This modeler would have preferred a single but larger and more detailed model to this undersized troika.

This model was built from an original issue.
