I just completed your P.1214 model and I was very pleased with it. Rather than complete it straight out of the box I borrowed parts and decals from an Airfix Harrier to incresae the level of detail. My additions include additional cockpit details, a tub, instrument panel, pilot and HUD, an in-flight refuelling probe and of course some extra weaponry. My P.1214 carries a BL.755 cluster bomb, a Phimat countermeasures pod, a TIALD Thermal Imaging Airbourne Laser Designator pod, two Paveway III LGBs and a pair of AIM-9 Sidewinders on the wing tips. The markings are based on those of the Harrier GR.5s of No.3 Squadron based in RAF Gutersloh, Germany, in the early 1990s. I'm seriously considering buying a second one to do in Royal Navy colours. |
