These are a few pics of my Fantastic
Plastic 1/72 scale resin Tie X-1. It was built pretty much
straight out of the box and then painted to my own ideas of how it
should look.
I started with a grey primer coat on
the solar panels and the main body, prior to final assembly, setting the
canopy aside for later. I then painted the actual solar panels
themselves by hand in black. After that was done, I gave the
assemblies a black wash followed by a drybrushing in silver to both
weather it and bring out the detail.
I put the subassemblies together with
superglue, and then glued the canopy on with Elmer's. After the
canopy had set, I hand-painted the frames in light grey.
She's an impressive little model,
but...I only 'thought' the Ep 2 Jedi Starfighter was small. This one's
not much bigger.
