Heinkel P.1080 Prepares for Landing |
ABOUT THE DESIGN |
ABOUT THE KIT |
One of many point-defense
fighter concepts developed by Germany to protect the Fatherland during
the waning months of WWII, the Heinkel P.1080 was to be powered by two
900mm-diameter Lorin-Rohr ramjets, which were mounted on either side of its
fuselage. The plane would be launched via four solid-fuel rockets that
would be jettisoned shortly after take-off, and the plane would land via a
single extendable skid. Armament was to consist of two KH 108 30mm cannon. Like many "Luft '46" designs, the P.1080 never went further than the design stage. |
This is the first kit produced by Kampfflieger, a small GK company from Ukraine. The model was a single-piece resin cast designed in CAD and produced using stereolithography. For more information about kit availability, CLICK HERE. |
