This was one of two "Wespe"
("Wasp") designs explored by Messerschmitt in 1943. This one featured
a single He S 011 turbojet engine mounted mid-fuselage fed via an air duct
wrapped under the forward fuselage. The cockpit was positioned far
forward. Both nose gear and main gear retracted forward. Although no armament was specified, it probably would have carried two MK 108 30mm cannon mounted under the pilot's seat. |
