| In 1943, Messerschmitt launched the P.1092 project to develop a multi-role jet fighter. This fifth and final version brought the cockpit back to the center of the plane, where it had originally began, but kept the 4 MK 108 30mm cannon and twin intakes from the earlier versions. Although the 1092 project never went beyond the design stage, many of the concepts developed for this project were incorporated into the Messerschmitt 1106 and 1101. |
